Simplistic Nutrition provides a structured, evidence based dietetic program exclusively for patients with Irritable Bowel Syndrome, fully bulk billed under the Medicare Chronic Disease Management pathway. It's delivered via Telehealth Australia wide, helping bridge the access gap for rural and regional patients who otherwise have limited access to dedicated IBS dietetic care.
Who to Refer
Patients with a diagnosis of, or symptoms consistent with, IBS who would benefit from structured dietetic support, particularly those who have been advised to try a low FODMAP diet but need guidance implementing it well.
What the program covers
Structured Low FODMAP elimination, personalised food challenge/reintroduction phase, and long term personalisation
Alternative pathways available where appropriate (simplified first step dietary advice, or Gut Directed Hypnotherapy in conjunction with dietary support)
Typically 4 to 5 sessions across approximately 15 to 17 weeks, well within an 18 month referral window
A written report provided after the first and final session under each referral
Visit Allocation Matters for Referral Completion
Please allocate 3 to 5 of the patient's 5 available CDM visits specifically to dietetics where possible. The program cannot be completed with 1 to 2 visits. Patients referred with only 1 to 2 dietetic visits allocated will not be able to complete the full pathway under this referral, and may need an additional referral or to continue privately.
How to refer
Prepare a GP Chronic Disease Management Plan (GPCCMP) and refer for dietetic services relating to IBS. Referrals can be emailed to katie@simplisticnutrition.com.au
We accept referrals from any state. This service operates via Telehealth Australia wide, in addition to face to face appointments in Mackay, Queensland.
